How Caring Works

The Details

1. Membership is free!

2.    We meet once a quarter for an hour at Half Day Brewing Company in Lincolnshire.

3.     Every member present can nominate a Lake County 501(c)(3) charity.

4.     Three charity names will be randomly drawn from a basket containing all of the submissions.

5.     The nominating members make a presentation of no longer than 5 minutes on why their charity deserves the nomination.

a.     Don’t worry…we have a template to help you know what information to have on hand.

6.     There will be a five-minute Q & A period.

7.     The group will vote by ballot for their choice.  You must be present to vote.

8.     All donations (check or online payment) go directly to the charity with the most votes.

a.      All members must donate, even if their charity is not chosen. 

9.     Not able to attend a meeting? Your donation is still expected to support this elected charity.

10.  Once a charity is selected to receive our donation, it can be nominated again in 2 years.

11. Can I bring a friend to the meeting?  Absolutely!  We encourage you to do so.
